You DO make friends with salad!

I tried out a few of the Kraft Sizzling Salads over the weekend (substituting the meat for tofu of course). I must say, pleasantly surprised!

I go through seasons of eating salad and hating salad. As a vegetarian, there are only so many salads I can eat before I want a heaping plate of nachos instead. That being said, the two salad kits I tried definitely took the mundane out of pebbles and leaves. (As @moxiegarrett puts it).

Over the weekend I made the Asian Chicken (tofu) salad with some spring rolls for lunch. I used tofu that I cooked up in sesame oil to crisp them and then simmered in the accompanying sauce from the kit. I tossed it all together with some snow peas, shredded carrots, green onions, sprouts and crispy won ton strips with the sesame dressing. SO good.

I made extra and took it for lunch on Monday, great combo.

Last night I got home at a good time to make dinner so I did the chicken (Fake tofu chicken) Caesar salad with perogies. Great mix, so tasty. I’m not really a huge caesar salad fan but this was actually really good. I added some grated parmesan and herbed croutons - I wish I had red onion. I really enjoyed it, Jingles scarfed it down super fast so I think he liked it too :)

If you have been thinking about trying these guys out, do it. If you haven’t heard of them before, go look for the kits in the salad dressing section. Great for holiday get togethers!
