Who needs Wednesday?
This past weekend I trekked home to Brantford to see my family and then out to Port Dover to spend some time with Dad and Anna. It was a fantastic visit, so much progress has happened since I saw him last.
Anna asked dad to take out his notepad and show us what he could do. So we all sat down at the kitchen table and watched as he wrote out his phone number and our names one by one on a lined notepad.
He can also say “Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday” - no Wednesday, but who needs it anyway :) I blogged a few weeks ago about the MIT therapy that he’s started, it’s making a world of difference. He showed us how he can hum two tones repeatedly and then transform the tones into “He-llo”. I can’t wait to see what the coming months will bring.
I can’t even explain how great it was to see him connecting what was in his brain to what was going down on paper. Such a breakthrough.
